How long does it take for 'inflammation' to develop into 'cancer'? Reminder: 3 types of inflammation should not be 'delayed'

With the development of science and technology, the level of all aspects has been significantly improved, especially in medical treatment, many difficult diseases can achieve the effect of clinical cure, and even cancer has made great breakthroughs.

Now cancer is no longer a terminal illness. As long as it can be detected in time and reasonable and effective treatment methods are adopted, many cancers can be cured. With the deepening of research in recent years, cancer treatment has also been continuously improved. Although the era of "talking about cancer" has passed, But we still need to do a good job of prevention to avoid the occurrence of cancer.

Cancer cells do not appear suddenly. Some cancers are caused by inflammation. When the body is inflamed, if it is not treated in time, it can easily cause serious consequences. What is the relationship between inflammation and cancer?

Will "inflammation" drag into "cancer"?

In fact, inflammation is our body's defense against bacteria, which in most cases is good for the body. Without the inflammatory response, the infection caused by the bacteria will be uncontrollable, and the wound will never heal, causing more serious damage to the body.

But we should also consider the negative aspects of inflammation on the human body. If the inflammation continues to develop, get out of control, become overly defensive, and attack one's own tissues, the damage will be further expanded.

It may mistakenly attack human tissues, and the damaging factors cause damage to human tissues and cells. When inflammation gets out of hand, it can trigger specific genes and trigger cancer.

In general, the final evolution of inflammation has only three forms:

The first is restoration, in which the pathogen is eliminated and the damaged tissue returns to normal.

The second is to transform into chronic inflammation, and the damage factors cannot be eliminated in the body, resulting in continuous tissue damage, which is difficult to heal.

The third is dissemination, that is, inflammatory factors continue to multiply and spread to surrounding tissues, organs or the whole body to expand the lesion.

Therefore, when the body is inflamed, we must pay attention and never let go, otherwise it is likely to cause irreversible effects due to our own negligence.

How long does it take for "inflammation" to develop into "cancer"?

How long does it take to go from inflammation to cancer? At present, scientific research has not yet conclusive and accurate data, and patients with inflammation may not develop cancer.

However, cancerous changes can occur in some inflammatory conditions. Chronic inflammation that becomes cancerous is called a precancerous lesion. Precancerous lesions are divided into high-grade precancerous lesions, intermediate-grade precancerous lesions, and low-grade precancerous lesions.

If high-grade precancerous lesions are not aggressively treated, malignant changes can occur in the short term, with a minimum time of 2-3 months. Therefore, early treatment and complete cure are the keys to prevent cancer.

Reminder: Three kinds of inflammation should not be "delayed"

  1. Hepatitis

If hepatitis is not actively treated, it will become liver cancer, especially chronic hepatitis B and chronic hepatitis C. If antiviral treatment is not carried out, the virus will cause repeated inflammation, necrosis, and fibrosis of liver cells, and eventually progress to liver cirrhosis. After cirrhosis, the risk of liver cancer increases significantly.

Once suffering from liver cancer, if there is no active treatment, or advanced liver cancer, its mortality rate is very high, and the survival rate is generally about 6 months. Therefore, patients with hepatitis should be actively treated. If it is hepatitis B and hepatitis C, antiviral drugs should be actively given treat.

  1. Gastritis

Gastritis is a general term for gastric mucosal inflammation and is one of the common diseases of the digestive tract. Some gastritis can develop into stomach cancer. Generally speaking, superficial gastritis will not worsen, and atrophic gastritis is closely related to gastric cancer.

If it is only atrophic gastritis, it is only a background disease of gastric cancer, and when it develops further, intestinal metaplasia and abnormal hyperplasia, it will be regarded as precancerous lesions, and about 10% will become gastric cancer.

It usually takes 10-20 years or even longer for gastritis to transform into gastric cancer. Many factors contribute to the development of this pattern, such as Helicobacter pylori infection, lifestyle habits, and mental stress. Therefore, we must take and prevent chronic gastritis seriously.

  1. Enteritis

If you suffer from enteritis, if the treatment is not timely and thorough, the inflammation will repeatedly stimulate the intestinal mucosa, leading to the shedding, necrosis, bleeding, and delay of the intestinal mucosa, which will increase the risk of intestinal cancer.

In particular, ulcerative colitis is likely to become cancerous and form colorectal cancer under long-term chronic stimulation. Therefore, if you suffer from enteritis, you must treat it in time and review it regularly to prevent cancer.

Tips:

If you don’t pay attention to minor illnesses, you may get sick. Therefore, when the body is inflamed, don’t choose to ignore it. You must actively treat it to prevent minor illnesses from becoming serious and prevent cancer.
