China's first high-speed rail through the Qinling Mountains: the whole journey is equipped with brakes and tracks are laid, and most of the stations are built on bridges or tunnels

With the continuous development of the economy and the acceleration of the pace, China's high-speed rail network can be said to occupy most of China. The construction of high-speed rail has fundamentally facilitated people's travel, and further promoted the rapid and stable development of regional economy. So today, I will show you the first high-speed rail in China that crosses the Qinling Mountains.

It is the Xicheng high-speed railway. The construction of the Xicheng high-speed railway can be said to be the most modern railway project with mountainous characteristics in China. It is also the first high-speed railway line in China to cross the Qinling Mountains. The Xicheng high-speed railway was officially constructed in 2012 and is expected to be completed and opened in September 2017. .

The construction of Xi'an-Chengdu high-speed railway has greatly shortened the distance from Xi'an to Chengdu, which can be reached from 18 hours to 3 hours. The design speed of Xi'an-Chengdu high-speed railway is 250 kilometers per hour and the total length is 643 kilometers. It crosses the Guanzhong Plain from north to south. , Qinling Mountains, Hanzhong Plain, Daba Mountains, the terrain is complex and diverse, so most of the stations are built on bridges or tunnels.

The construction of the Xicheng high-speed railway, especially in Shaanxi, has more complex landforms and is the most difficult point in the design and construction of the whole line. This section of the project is mainly based on bridges and tunnels. The total length of the section passing through the Qinling Mountains is 135 kilometers, and the tunnel mileage reaches 127 kilometers. km, 78.9 km of bridges in Hanzhong.

The construction of the Xicheng high-speed railway has passed through 20 tunnels in the Qinling Mountains, and there are 7 extra-long tunnels, the longest of which is the Tianhuashan double-track tunnel in the Qinling Mountains, with a total length of about 16 kilometers, which can be said to be the longest of the Xicheng high-speed railway. It is also the longest single-hole double-lane tunnel in Asia.

The construction of this tunnel belongs to the highest risk category due to the complex terrain. Due to the complex terrain, it is difficult for materials to be transported in. In order to facilitate transportation, a 48-kilometer-long access road has to be built, and there is a large slope during the construction process. If there is no brake during the laying process, the slope will slide for nearly 300 meters due to its own weight, so it is necessary to lay with brakes throughout the project construction. This construction method is the first time in the construction of high-standard modern railways in mountainous areas currently planned in China. It also marks another breakthrough in the history of Chinese architecture.
