To keep the human body functioning properly, two things are essential.

Needless to say about eating, but the importance of row is ignored by many people.

Urinating is something everyone does every day.

However, many people often don't care too much about urine color and other issues after going to the toilet and turning around after flushing. In fact, urine volume, frequency, urine color, urine smell, etc. can all indicate health problems.

Regarding the problems related to urine, I will tell you today.

The total amount of urine excreted in 24 hours is called urine volume.

Under normal circumstances, the amount of urine is about 200-400ml each time, and the amount excreted in 24 hours is about 1000-2000ml, and the average amount is about 1500ml.

The amount of urine we drink has a certain relationship. When you drink more water, your urine output will increase; when you drink less water but sweat more, your urine output will decrease. In addition, urine output is also related to age, activity, temperature, humidity and mental factors.

Let's talk about the normal situation, let's look at the abnormal situation (polyuria, oliguria, anuria).

Polyuria generally refers to the total amount of urine excreted in 24 hours of more than 2500ml; oliguria refers to the total amount of urine excreted in 24 hours of less than 400ml or continuously less than 17ml per hour; and anuria refers to the total amount of urine in 24 hours less than 100ml.

Causes of polyuria are seen in:

Physiological: excessive drinking water and intake of strong tea, coffee, or long-term mental stress, insomnia, etc.

Pathological: seen in a variety of chronic non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes, chronic nephritis and neurogenic polyuria.

Causes of oliguria are seen in:

Physiological: When drinking less water and sweating more every day.

Pathological: renal failure, shock, severe burns, acute and chronic nephritis, cardiac insufficiency, etc.

color of urine

The color of normal urine is clear and transparent.

If it is affected by drugs and food, it will appear light yellow and dark yellow; when the weather is hot and drinking less water, the urine will be less concentrated and appear dark yellow; when the water intake is large, the color of the urine will return to normal.

When there is a problem with the body, the urine will also show different colors, and it is necessary to be vigilant at this time.

Red urine, color of washing meat (blood urine)

Common in urinary tract stones, acute nephritis, tuberculosis, tumors, etc., and some other blood diseases or infectious diseases may also appear hematuria.

Dark brown, soy sauce-like color (hemoglobinuria)

Common in hemolysis caused by blood group incompatibility, rhabdomyolysis, falciparum malaria and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria.

Tan (bilirubinuria)

Common in obstructive jaundice and hepatocellular jaundice. Because the urine contains bilirubin, the foam is also yellow and should not disappear after shaking the urine.

Milky white (chyluria)

Common in filariasis, the urine is milky white due to the presence of lymph in the urine.

Frequent urination generally refers to a significant increase in urination frequency, 4 to 6 times during the day and 0 to 2 times at night.

Physiological frequent urination means that the amount of urine does not decrease each time, and there is no frequent urination. The frequency of urination increases due to drinking too much water, nervousness or cold weather. Generally, no special treatment is required.

Pathological frequent urination such as inflammatory stimulation, foreign bodies, physical weakness after illness, parasitic diseases, etc. These conditions must be paid attention to, and medical attention should be sought in time if necessary.

Most people have the experience of holding back urine, and the reasons are also different, but it is very detrimental to health if the "urination" is not discharged in time.

cause urinary system diseases

When holding back urine, more urine in the bladder makes the bladder enlarge, compressing the blood vessels on the bladder wall, resulting in weakened resistance. At this time, bacteria will multiply and grow, and it is easy to cause urinary system diseases, such as cystitis, urethritis, etc. In severe cases, kidney function will also be affected.

arrhythmia

Holding back urine can also cause increased blood pressure, especially in patients with heart disease, arrhythmia and even angina pectoris; and for elderly patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia or hypertrophy, holding back urine for too long is even worse.

induce bladder cancer

Often holding back urine, the sphincter and detrusor muscles in the bladder will always be in a tense state. If holding back urine for too long, the urine volume will increase continuously, and the intravesical pressure will increase, which will lead to bladder neck obstruction symptoms such as difficulty urinating, poor urination, leakage of urine, incontinence, etc.

Researchers have found that people who hold their urine for a long time are 3-5 times more likely to develop bladder cancer than the general population. This shows that holding back urine is a very bad habit.

Drink plenty of water, urinate frequently

It is necessary to develop the habit of drinking more water in daily life. The so-called "running water is not rotten, and the pivot is not beetle". Drinking a lot of water will produce more urine to flush the urethra, which can reduce more waste and bacteria.

When there is an urge to urinate, it should be excreted in time, do not hold back urine, and maintain a hygienic urinary environment.

Urinating should also pay attention to hygiene

In order to prevent intestinal bacteria from being brought into the urethra, women should wipe from front to back after urinating; men should change their underwear frequently, keep their lower body clean and hygienic, and avoid humid environments. Men and women should urinate as soon as possible after sex.

at last

I advise everyone not to hold back if you can hold your urine

Maintain regular urinary hygiene

after using the toilet

Pay attention to the color of your urine

If an exception occurs

Get medical care early
