Women who are pregnant in October need to go through various levels, overcome various discomforts during pregnancy, and finally usher in the arrival of the little angel! Before giving birth, many mothers had a normal body and no abnormal lumps. But just a few days after giving birth, I suddenly found a lump in the armpit, and there was a strange pain, which made people worry.

Moreover, now that the Internet is very developed, many mothers will check the Internet to see what is wrong after they have symptoms. It doesn't matter if you don't check, a variety of terrifying diseases come into view, such as breast cancer lymphatic metastasis, lymphoma and so on. Obviously there is no problem, but I was frightened by myself first!

Could it be that the lump in the armpit that appeared a few days after giving birth was really reported as cancer?

Under normal circumstances, a mother will have a mass in the armpit after giving birth, which is mostly symmetrical on both sides and of the same size. And there is no abnormality before delivery, mostly due to breast swelling after delivery, and changes with breast swelling. This is not the so-called lymphatic metastasis of breast cancer, nor is it swollen lymph nodes, nor is it lymphoma!

This kind of lump is actually a kind of mammary gland, but it is not normal mammary gland tissue, but mammary gland tissue produced by female congenital abnormal development. In layman's terms, it is the "auxiliary mammary gland", which has been formed when you are still a small embryo. On both sides of the female body, there are 6 to 8 pairs of papillary local bulges on the line from the armpit to the base of the thigh. Under normal circumstances, except for the pair of breasts on the chest, the rest will degenerate before birth. If there is no degeneration, the formed nipples and breasts are called accessory breasts.

However, accessory breasts in other parts are rare, and generally appear in the armpits. Since there is no milk secretion at ordinary times, women do not have any feeling. However, after giving birth, under the influence of hormone fluctuations in the body, the mammary glands are also active, and a large amount of milk is secreted to prepare for the feeding of the newborn, so the auxiliary milk will also appear. Some mothers are prone to milk stagnation, lumps and swelling due to improper breastfeeding posture and incorrect breastfeeding, which makes them discover lumps in their armpits!

In this case, does the lump in the armpit need to be treated?

Underarm lumps that develop after a woman gives birth do not usually require medical attention and tend to go away on their own. However, if the pain is really unbearable and has affected your psychology and life, you can use medicines as recommended by your doctor, including pain relievers, topical medicines, etc. The symptoms will usually disappear within 24 hours!

In addition, there is a possibility that some of the breasts of pregnant women are not completely unblocked. At this time, you can consult a doctor to see if you can use a hot towel for external application. At the same time, you should also understand the correct breastfeeding position and let the baby suck more of the nipple, which will stimulate the smooth flow of the nipple and breast, and this symptom will disappear with the smooth discharge of milk.

If you have tried these two methods, but there is still a lump in the armpit, you should be alert to problems such as swollen lymph nodes, and you can seek medical attention in time. In addition, if you suddenly feel an irregular lump in the breast with an unclear surrounding boundary that cannot be pushed with your hands, you should also be alert to the signal sent by breast cancer, and you should seek medical attention as soon as possible.
