With the change of people's lifestyle, hypertension has also become a common disease affecting the health of people all over the world. According to statistics, nearly 4 of the 18-year-old doctors in China have 1 hypertensive patient. Therefore, many people find that their blood pressure is high after a physical examination, and immediately ask a doctor to ask "doctor, do I want to take antihypertensive drugs." However, in fact, it is not necessary to take medicine for high blood pressure in all cases. The following five types of high blood pressure, Medication is usually not required.

These 5 types of high blood pressure do not use drugs, many people do not know

1) White coat hypertension

White coat hypertension actually means that some people have high blood pressure when measured in hospitals, clinics and other medical places. If they measure their blood pressure at home or perform 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, it is normal.

The mechanism of its occurrence has not yet been clarified, but it may be related to sympathetic nerve excitation. Clinical studies have shown that nearly 30% of patients with blood pressure ≥140/90 mmHg measured in a medical setting may have white coat hypertension.

For such patients, in fact, as long as the lifestyle adjustment can be, do not need medication.

2) Pseudo-hypertension

Some patients have low blood pressure. The sphygmomanometer we use is measured by cuff pressure. If the patient has vascular sclerosis during measurement, the cuff exerts a higher pressure to occlude the blood vessel, which will cause the measured blood pressure to be biased. Especially for patients with risk of vascular calcification, it is necessary to consider whether it is pseudo-hypertension. After diagnosis by a professional doctor, it is generally not necessary to take antihypertensive drugs.

3) Orthostatic hypertension (supine hypertension)

In some populations, the influence of changes in blood pressure receptor location is greater, which may be related to neurogenic hypertension caused by cardiovascular autonomic failure. Orthostatic hypotension may occur when getting up, and high blood pressure may occur when lying on your back, which is more common in Parkinson's patients. At present, for supine position hypertension, medication is not recommended, but it is recommended to raise the head of the bed at night by 15 degrees.

4) Newly diagnosed patients with low and intermediate-risk hypertension

For newly diagnosed patients with high blood pressure, but the doctor assesses them to be low-to-medium risk, they can adjust their lifestyle for 1-3 months without antihypertensive drugs, and then return to the clinic. If the blood pressure is not under control, it is recommended to take antihypertensive drugs. This avoids overdosing.

5) Drug-induced hypertension

Drug-induced hypertension, as the name suggests, is drug-induced hypertension, which refers to the increase in blood pressure due to the pharmacological effects of the drug itself or improper medication methods. Often prompt drug-induced hypertension, common can induce hypertension drugs such as glucocorticoids, contraceptives, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and so on.

Drug-induced hypertension is one of the causes of secondary hypertension, and its blood pressure boosting mechanism is complex, and some are still unclear, but most of the symptoms are mild and can be reversed after drug withdrawal.

Summarize

In short, although high blood pressure is common, it needs a doctor's evaluation before taking it with or without medication. Not all people with high blood pressure need to take medication. Finally, the author would like to say that antihypertensive drugs are a weapon that can protect the health of people with high blood pressure and prevent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular accidents, and should not be regarded as a burden. Trust your doctor's diagnosis and follow your doctor's orders.
